August 9, 2005 - Bonni passed away at 12:45 AM

Bonni passed away on Tuesday  morning August 9 at 12:45 AM.  Her family and friends had just departed for the night.  She died in comfort.  She had entered the hospital 24 hours earlier in kidney failure. Her systems had begun to shutdown.  This final decline was very rapid and without notice.

August 12, 2005 - Bonni's Memorial Service

Over 500 people attended the memorial service at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapel at 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville MD. 20852-1408

The service included a fly-over of U.S. customs and border protection aircraft, a joint U.S. customs and border protection and U.S. immigration customs enforcement honor guard, eulogies by Dick Hoglund, Bonni's former Deputy as well as Jayson Ahern, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations, Customs and Border Patrol and Marcy Forman, Director, Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  Bonni's stepfather Stan Kessel and Brother Andrew Kessel spoke for the family.  The service ended with presentation of a US Flag and Customs Ensign and a Last Call where Custom's "Sector" retired Bonni's call sign.
