I have known Bonni as a friend, colleague and mentor for over 25 years. We have had a very complex relationship throughout these years, sharing the unique experience of women blazing trails in a man's world. Bonni loved to give me advice on everything from my choice of clothing ("not that frumpy suit again!") to my career decisions ("why did you promote that idiot?"). I am fortunate to have been able to spend alot of time with Bonni in the past couple of months. We spent countless hours in doctors' offices and hospitals reminiscing about our families, friends and careers. It amazed me that even as late as the Friday before she passed away, she was reading the newspaper, stating graphically how screwed up various policies and agencies were and how she would fix it. And I can't count the number of times she told her Doctor to "cut to the chase..." I will miss Bonni's advice and graphic words of wisdom, but I have many, many wonderful memories to remember her by forever.
