I have shared many thoughts with my brother over the past few weeks, some from my younger years before Andy was born and Bonni being the big sister was saddled with the task of protecting her little brother. I have often thought those years cast the first bit of iron-fast resolve and her steadfast feeling that good won out over evil and the truth always won out in the end. Bonni was a believer in American way of life and the potential of people, if those people were given the opportunity to pursue their destiny. At her funeral my family heard countless stories, how this belief changed the lives of many people. I am personally disappointed that I in my adult life following a successful career in healthcare was unable to help her in a successful battle against her breast disease. The system is very difficult to navigate even when I was there to knock down some walls. To that end I would be only to happy to assist any friend of hers in need of an advocate to navigate the healthcare system, and I do this in her memory.
